We’re back!!

You might have noticed we’ve been a little absent lately, you know when life just catches up with you and there’s just no time to do anything, yeah that! Gosh I feel like I haven’t had time to breathe in the last few months and this year well it’s just flown by in a flash and I know Carys has been feeling exactly the same. If you follow our blog you will know this year has been a bit of a whirl wind as we both got engaged and purchased our first homes (yipee) but one thing for sure is we have both been missing our little blog tremendously.

We have decided to upload one blog post a week, every Sunday for the time being so we can ensure we are providing frequent and consistent posts each week.

Below are our mini life updates if your interested in what we’ve been up to.

Leigh -Ann

We are now fully settled into our new flat and have been living here now for almost 6 months! Where the heck did that time go?! You can read my post New Home – A month and a half later HERE . Since that post we’ve worked hard to make it feel more homely and now have throws, rugs, blinds and curtains! It’s surprising how much of a difference curtains makes and wow does it keep that cold November chill at bay. We’ve got mirrors up and for me most excitingly my little beauty salon *** plus spare room, plus Dodi’s guitar room *** is nearly complete!

My little beauty business is another reason why I have been so so busy at the moment, I am very proud of what I’ve achieved in a year (even if it’s exhausting). I trained to be a nail technician in January with a plan to do a few appointments here or there to get some extra dollar dollar dollar (sorry couldn’t help myself) for our wedding. Fast forward a year and I now have appointments more or less every night of the week and have further trained in brows and lashes! This is on top of my full time job so this has been a massive reason for my blogging absence lately!

Lastly, Dodi and I have finally found a Wedding venue after visiting many locations – horray!!

My life has been so so manic over the last few months, which is great but I really need to ensure I am finding some time for myself to chill! Is your life non stop? How do you manage your time?

Birthday Weekend in Bath

Another Birthday has come around and I was surprised with a Spa Weekend away in Bath. I have always wanted to visit Bath and I have to say that I was not disappointed. There was so much to see and do and the town itself was filled with history and beautiful buildings. Prepare for lots of photos throughout this post.

Our hotel was gorgeous, set in beautiful scenery, with a beautiful room. We upgraded to a room with a beautiful bath too :).

The weekend was an opportunity for us both to relax and indulge in lots of yummy food as well as amazing treatments at the Thermae Bath Spa. We had pre booked a couples massage which was amazing as I rarely go for any kind of treatments. It was an hour long appointment and if you are ever planning on visiting the spa I would recommend booking a treatment. As for the spa itself I l loved the Steam rooms, each steam pod had different oils including Lotus flower, Eucalptus, Lemongrass, which each were suited to different things dependent on what you were looking to achieve. We tried out each steam room and after the steam room and my treatment I felt so thoroughly pampered and refreshed. However I wasn’t so impressed by the rest of the spa facilities, I am not really a fan of swimming and the pools. I dont think that we would have paid just to have access to the spa itself but I was happy to with a treatment booked.

We also visited the amazing Roman Baths, which were not only beautiful to look at but the history was so so interesting. I was so surprised at how big the baths were, running right under the ground. The baths are the only source of a heated spring in the UK and to see the bubbling and feel the warm temperature of the water was amazing. If you are visiting the area and love a bit of history then this is definitely worth a visit.

We visited multiple restaurants and tea and cake cafes, one of which served the most delicious carrot cake, that Christian and I managed to demolish within the first few minutes (I am actually surprised that I managed to grab a quick picture of it whilst it was still in one piece!!).

(Notice how the cake was almost devoured before our yummy paninis!)

Of course it wouldn’t be a birthday weekend without a little trip to Space NK, I managed to pick up a balance of skincare and makeup. I picked up the Sarah Chapman Age Repair Serum and the Becca mineralise blusher in Flowerchild which I swatched in store and instantly fell in love with. I will be reviewing these very soon.

Hope you all had am amazing bank holiday weekend 🙂 Let us know what you got up to 🙂

August Monthly Favourites

Capture

Wow it’s been a whole month already!! Time goes by so so quickly when your working two jobs and running a blog! It’s going to be Christmas before we know it, yes I went there!! I am actually looking forward to getting the cosy winter clothes out, the hot muggy nights are starting to get to me a wee bit! Hope you have all had  fabulous month and enjoyed the bank holiday weekend 🙂 I sure did! Also, it’s Carys’ Birthday today so would like to say a huge Happy Birthday to my Cousin, Bestfriend and fellow BeauTeagene <3

Moving onto my monthly faves, I have been loving a variety of products this month from make up and hair care to home products.

NYX Highlight & Contour Pro pallet

product 2

If you keep up to date with our blog you would have seen my post on this little beauty! I have been using it ALL month for day time make up and evening, it’s so versatile and suitable for so many skin tones. The best thing is it’s reasonably priced!  To read my full review see HERE

NYX Baked Blush – Chiffon

5

NYX really are pulling everything out of the bag lately! Perhaps I think this because my local Boots have only just recently got the NYX counter and it’s all a bit new to me but I just love the quality of their products! Their so affordable yet such great quality, I would say NYX competes with some of the higher end brands. I am yet to be disappointed with anything I have tried from this brand. The baked blush is stunning, it has great pigmentation once you have used it once or twice. It seems to have a tough top layer but once you have got in there with your brush it’s fine. It has the most subtle shimmer that adds a gorgeous glow/highlight to the cheeks. A good kind of glow in that it doesn’t make you look oily! I’m now after more shades… watch this space!

Mac Lip Stick – Taupe

10

I have found myself grabbing Mac’s Taupe almost on a daily basis this month, it’s my ultimate go to at the moment! I just adore the shade and love teaming it up with Mac’s Spice lip liner. I am looking forward to Autumn now so I can start wearing reds, berries and purples <3

Barbara Daly – Mattifying base, oil free foundation

3

Where has this product been all my life?! I finally picked this up in Tesco’s this month after eyeing it up during a number of weekly food shops. I usually wear Estee Lauder’s famous and fabulous double wear foundation but have been on the hunt for something a little cheaper to wear during the week whilst at work. This has great coverage (I would say medium but buildable) but feels very lightweight on the skin. As it’s an oil free formula and doesn’t leave me feeling shiny at all. Keep an eye out as I will be doing a full review with photo’s in September.

OGX – Argan Oil

1

I am always so impressed with OGX’s hair care products. They have a very extensive range but it’s the argan oil I find myself buying again and again! This is a staple product in my hair care routine and find myself applying it to my wet hair and also the ends daily. It leaves my hair feeling shiny, soft and healthy – what more can you want?!

Silver & Coconut room spray & diffuser

2

You may know we recently moved in to our very first home which you can read all about HERE and have finally been buying all the fun bits like rugs, candles and smellies! I was after a statement fragrance and whilst smelling every candles, diffuser and room spray in sight I came across this silver & coconut set (which includes a diffuser and room spray) and instantly knew this was how I wanted our place to smell! Does that sound really strange?! It’s a very luxurious fragrance, the coconut is not over powering at all but very subtle. I love the silver bottles too! There are more scents and bottle styles in this range and I highly recommend checking it out when your next in Tesco.

What have you been loving this month? Have you tried any of the products I have listed above? Let us know below <3

Collective Haul & Try On Video

Collective Clothing Pic

Hi lovelies todays post is just a quick hello and is linked with our new youtube video; a collective haul and try on which you can watch here. I love to watch these type of videos as it really helps to give me ideas on some new fashion ideas and I think seeing what the outfits look like on a real-life person just gives you a little more of an idea. There is a mixture of clothing from a range of stores including Hollister, Topshhop, H&M, Forever21 and Jack Wills.  I have to say that since filming this video, the sunshine has decided to depart the UK and it has been raining constantly so expect a autumn clothing haul soon!!
